Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani
Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani (born on June 9, 1952) is a Pakistani politician who served as Prime Minister of Pakistan from March 2008 until his retroactive disqualification and ouster by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on April 2012. He currently serves as the vice-chairman of the central executive committee of the Pakistan Peoples Party. After 1988 general elections, he secured his ministerial appointment in the Ministry of Tourism, and since then, he had been a senior member of parliament from the Multan District. After his party securing the plurality in the 1993 general elections, Gillani was elevated 15th Speaker of the National Assembly by then Prime minister Benazir Bhutto, a post he held until 16th of February 1997. In February 2001, Gillani was imprisoned in Adiala Jail by a military court instituted under President Pervez Musharraf on accusations and charges of corruption, and released on 7th of October 2006. In the wake of 2008 general elections, his party formed a four-party coalition alliance and nominated him for the office of Prime minister. He is the first prime minister that holds the distinction (thus far, the only prime minister to have achieve this milestone) for successfully presenting five consecutive federal budgets.Recently He has selected as a Senator and also selected as Chairman Senate of Pakistan.
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Inzamam-ul-Haq (born on March 03, 1970), also known as Inzy, is a former Pakistani cricketer. The leading run scorer for Pakistan in One Day Internationals, and the third-highest run scorer for Pakistan in Test cricket. Inzamam is considered one of all time legends of world cricket. He was the captain of Pakistan National Cricket Team from 2003 till 2007 and is considered to be one of the best captain in Pakistan Cricket history. Inzamam rose to fame in the semi-final of the 1992 Cricket World Cup. He remained one of the team's leading batsmen throughout the decade in both Test and ODI cricket. His tenure as captain ended after Pakistan's early exit from the 2007 Cricket World Cup. Inzamam retired from International Cricket in 2007, following the second Test match against South Africa.
Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam
Sheikh Rukn-ud-Din Abul Fateh (1251–1335), commonly known by Shah Rukn-e-Alam (Pillar of the World) was an eminent Sufi saint from Multan. The saint is still revered today and his tomb is the focus of the pilgrimage of over 100,000 pilgrims from all over South Asia. Shah Mehmood Qureshi is current Sajjada Nashin and custodian of the Mausoleum of Shah Rukn-e-Alam. The tomb was built between 1320 and 1324 CE in the pre-Mughal architectural style. The tomb is said to have built by Ghias-ud-Din Tughlak (1320-1325 AD) during his governorship of Depalpur, between 1320 and 1324 CE and was given by his son, Muhammad bin Tughluq to the descendants of Shah Rukn-e-Alam for the latter’s burial in 1330. In the 1970s, the mausoleum was thoroughly repaired and renovated by the Auqaf Department. The entire glittering glazed interior is the result of new tiles and brickwork done by the Kashigars of Multan.
Syed Ata Ullah Shah Bukhari
Syed Ata Ullah Shah Bukhari (born on September 23, 1892), was a Muslim Hanafi Deobandi scholar, religious and political leader from the Indian subcontinent. He was one of the Majlis-e-Ahrar-e-Islam's founding members. His biographer, Agha Shorish Kashmiri, states that Bukhari's greatest contribution had been his germination of strong anti-British feelings among the Indian Muslims. He is one of the most notable leader of the Ahrar movement which was associated with opposition to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and establishment of an independent Pakistan (but it is not confirmed) as well as persecution of the Ahmadiyya Movement.
Suraiya Multanikar
Multanikar was born in Multan, Punjab. Her earliest childhood memories are of wanting to excel as a singer. No one in her immediate family could either teach or advise her. So in her childhood, she taught herself by listening to film songs and copying their tunes and lyrics. Later, she became a formal disciple of Ghulam Nabi Khan of the Delhi gharana of classical music who was a sarangi player.[
Multanikar has 7 children (from oldest to youngest): Muhammad Ali, a UK-based orthopaedic doctor; Ruqaiya Sajjad; Ramzan Ali, Shaista, Rabia, Aalia and Rahat Bano. Her youngest daughter, Rahat Multanikar is also a folk singer like her mother.
