Commissioner Multan Division, Bilal Ahmed Buttha directed concerned officers to ensure maximum facilities at wheat procurement centres. presiding over a meeting to review arrangements for wheat procurement here on Monday, Bilal Ahmed Butt said that reservations of farmers must be resolved on priority basis.He asked concerned officers to ensure facilities of clean drinking water and fan in sitting areas. He also directed that CCTV cameras should be installed at weighing machines. Moreover, proper traffic plan should be made for flow of traffic. Deputy Director Food Haq Nawaz Chohan briefed Commissioner Multan that 48 wheat procurement centres across the division has been made functional (17 in Multan, 12 in Vehari, 14 in Khanewal and 5 in Lodhran). He said that the farmers with 10 acre wheat crop will be given gunny bags. He stated that distribution of gunny bags will start from April 24. He maintained that 673,000 metric ton wheat will be procured this year in Multan division at a rate of Rs 1,300 per 40 kg. Additional Commissioner Sarfraz Ahmed, ADC Revenue Kamran Khan and other concerned officers were also present.
