Multan Development Authority

Multan Development Authority is a successor body of Multan Improvement Trust (MIT), which was established in 1944 under Punjab Town Improvement Act, 1922. Scope of MIT was limited only towards residential and commercial schemes within municipal boundaries, which was then called city area. MDA's area of jurisdiction spreads over 362 sq. Km. Vital responsibility of MDA was to evolve policies and programmes relating to launch new housing schemes for development of the city. MDA launched a number of development schemes especially in housing sector. Amongst these schemes are Shah Rukne Alam I&II, Lodhi Colony, New Qasimpur Colony, Tughlaq Town and New shah shams housing scheme. These schemes consist of 11, 177 plots of various sizes. General Bus Stand, Multan Bypass, truck stand, development of Qasim Bagh, improvement of different roads and recently the under pass at General Bus Stand Multan along with pedestrians bridges are some of the major projects completed by MDA.
